Aftercare for Sprinkler Systems

Aftercare for a sprinkler system is essential to make sure the system can still function as supposed to. Regular Maintenance and Inspections occur to ensure they still function properly. During these inspections and maintenances a competent person will make sure the sprinkler heads and system has not been tampered with. Examples of tampering with a system are:

  • Painting over the heads
  • Physical Damage
  • Corrosion
  • Bent/Crooked sprinkler heads
  • Leaks from heads or pipe
  • Uneven water coverage

Sprinkler engineers make sure to look out for these things during inspections/maintenances so that they can ensure in fixing the mistake and letting the relevant person(s) know about the damage.

What happens during a Maintenance or Inspection?

Maintenances and Inspections are typically a yearly thing that occur to ensure the system still functions as needed.

During a maintenance/inspection an engineer will visusally inspect the system for any tampering/damage (listed above). If the engineer suspects either of them occuring then the system is to be repaired and restested. The engineer will also make sure to check the heads to see wether their heat sensing capacity or spray pattern has been impeded, and if so they inform the relevent person and repair the damage so the system functions correctly.
