The installation process is putting the whole system together with things like CPVC pipe, sprinkler heads, valve sets etc. For the engineers to know where they are locating the system and different aspects of it, they refer to the drawings from the design team. This allows the engineers to put the system in effectively.
The installation of our systems are carried out by competent engineers adhering to the regulations set out in BS9251. Thermoplastic CPVC is used as the backbone of installations due to it's resistance to corrosion, pitting and scaling; making it the most effective material for both pump-fed and mains-fed sprinkler systems. FP200 cable is used for any alarms that are connected to the sprinkler system.
Once the sprinkler designs are completed and approved the engineers will install the pipework and alarms cables accordingly, ensuring that each sprinkler head provides adequate coverage. Following that the system is inspected and tested thoroughly to verify the integrity of the pipework before commissioning during the final stages.
Our engineers are trained to connect the sprinkler valveset to the domestic supply or to the pump feed - whichever is necessary. In cases where a priority demand valve is required this is also something that we can accommodate. After all of the final connections into the water supply are done and any monitoring systems/alarms are connected, the system is then charged with water and "made live", thus providing protection from that moment on.
Sprinkler systems are designed to be self-sufficient and with correct installation and regular maintenance they will provide protection for many years.
